I've Been Beauty Connected!

Being as shy as I am, ( ha...ha...ha...) let me tell you about my great experience with Beauty Connections in Uniontown today.

First, let me just do a little promo plugging here... Beauty Connections is locally owned and operated by Lori Spino with some great ladies on staff who specialize in different spa treatments. You can check out their website here: http://www.beautyconnectionsspa.net/ They are located in Mountain View Plaza. Don't know where that is? Yeah, I didn't either until Mary Rose explained it to me. :D Going out of Uniontown on Route 51, after you pass the Giant Eagle intersection, they are the second left turn off, kind of up a slight hill, where the sign for Seese Tattoo is. (Wow, I just realized that Giant Eagle is such an important grocery store, the intersection to turn into where the plaza NEXT to it is even referred to as the Giant Eagle intersection... that should be a whole other post right there...)

Last week, Mary Rose of Beauty Connections called me to make sure that I knew about their new location, and to see if I was ready for a relaxing upper body facial so I could check out the new facility. SURE! I'm all up for relaxing!! So I took Liz with me, and off we went to be beautified!

Liz went first, and as always, I enjoyed talking with Lori while Liz was being worked on by Mary Rose. And something caught my eye on the menu of services ....... Ultrasonic Liposuction! As I looked down at my lap that was sunken into the most comfy smooshie couch I have ever sat on in my life, I realized... HOLY CRAP. I'm not SKINNY anymore! WHAT?! When did THAT happen? I no longer had lean, muscular thighs that I had when I was 16 and training in dance and acrobatics... I now had cellulite, stretch marks, and ROLLS of fat. Putting my thighs together, I swear, it almost looked like I was sprouting the tri-gina in that area... EEEK! Something MUST be done about this!

Of course, I had to make an appointment to get my thighs reduced. The before and after pictures, as always, looked phenomenal. Me being the skeptic that I am, I had to see for myself if this really worked... which is how I can honestly answer questions at the parties I do, but that's a whole other story right there...

And today was my first appointment.

I had Jason measure my thigh at the fattest point before I left. 28". OK, that in and of itself is depressing. Prior to being pregnant with Liz, MY WAIST was 28". And now my THIGH is 28"?!     NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! At least I know it's true that I could fit one thigh into my high school jeans ... um...

I arrived at Beauty Connections, had some chit-chat with Lori and Mary Rose (LOVE me some Lori and Mary Rose) while Selena got everything ready. (Let me say it, LOVE me some Selena, too!) As the ultrasonic liposuction began on my thighs, I was getting visions of looking hot to trot in a bikini again... Ok, maybe not a bikini, but at least rockin' the moo-moo a little better! About half way through the first leg..... THE POWER WENT OUT. That's right, folks, my thighs had SO MUCH FAT, the ultrasonic equipment had to draw too much power and caused a BLACK OUT! Go ahead, laugh, I almost rolled off the table laughing at the thought of that being true, and the ladies in the waiting area found it quite funny when I shouted it out, too!   As the power came back on, and the machine reset, the process continued.

Now she had warned me in advance that I would hear a chirping/buzzing sound in my ear. Given my line of work, sure, I can take it. If I can handle the "little blue one" in my hand without flinching, I can surely handle this. It honestly sounded like crickets, but it occurred to me... what I was hearing was the sound waves breaking up the fat stores of my cells in my thighs. I'm TOTALLY surprised it only sounded like crickets and not something more like bullfrogs croaking!

Once it was all done, and I stood up, I could see a difference immediately. The large curd cottage cheese that was my inner thigh now looked more like chunky peanut butter! (Sad to say, that IS an improvement in the condition of my thighs..)   I slipped my shorts back on, and what a HUGE difference I felt! YEEHAW!  I had room to move in those shorts!

As soon as I got home, I had Jason measure me again... "I'll drop the shorts, and you tell me LESS than 28"..." And sure enough, Selena had reduced my thigh by 1/2"!! Now a half an inch doesn't seem like a lot, right? Yeah, let me tell you, those size 12 shorts that were perfectly fine in the butt and cutting off cellulite circulation in my legs now just slide right on and off!

Now, of course, if I continue to eat Oreos on my Hot Fudge Sundaes every morning for breakfast, I'll negate what was just done. However, I am going back in 2 weeks to continue this process. It's safe to get this done every day, but I'm afraid my inner thighs will start having separation anxiety from all the excess fat. Instead of saddle bags on the outer thigh, I'll start producing Crisco Sticks above my knee caps or something like that.

I think this whole process needs a name. I shall call it... "Make Melanie Look Less Like The Saggy Baggy Elephant"... or better yet, now that I have no more concern of starting a bush fire from the constant friction of my Chub Rub, maybe I'll call my ultrasonic liposuction campaign: "Melanie, too, is preventing a forest fire"!

So, to sum it up, I absolutely recommend having this done. It was only $55 for the session. Small price to pay to have 13 years of accumulated fat in my thighs booted out electronically while I just relaxed and chatted with Selena!

I love Beauty Connections day spa so much, I'm going to be offering gift certificates for complimentary relaxing facials to some elite preferred customers of "Pure Romance By Melanie". I feel an upcoming contest on how to get one of these that will be posted in the coming weeks.....
